Victoria Shamrocks Mourn Passing of Dean Hill

The Victoria Shamrocks are beyond shocked and heartbroken to hear the terrible news that Dean Hill, from Six Nations, Ontario passed away suddenly last night at the age of 36.

Dean spent three seasons with the Shamrocks as a transfer from the Six Nations Chiefs from 2009 - 2011 as a left-handed forward, wearing number 73. He played in a total of 65 regular season and playoff games in the green and white in which he scored 80 goals and added 100 assists, for a total of 180 points.

"I'm not sure I can find words right now because we've just lost a member of the Shamrocks family," said General Manager Chris Welch. "Deaner was a great lacrosse player and an even better person. A fierce competitor on the floor but off the floor you couldn't meet anyone nicer or warmer. He was always smiling and positive and no matter how bad a day you were having, just being in his presence would lift your spirits. It's hard to imagine that he's gone."

Our deepest condolences go out to all of Dean's family, friends, and teammates, and the thoughts of the entire Shamrocks organization are with them at this difficult time.
