The Rooster is Coming to Town: Rocks add Jacob Ruest to 2022 Roster

Victoria, BC– The Victoria Shamrocks are excited to announce the addition of Jacob Ruest to the 2022 roster.

This will be Ruest’s first season as a Shamrock, but he is no stranger to the sport of lacrosse. Ruest, a Cornwall, ON native, has had a stick in his hands since the age of six. Playing his junior career in Burlington, Ruest was named Rookie of the Year before declaring for the NLL draft.

Ruest is a strong, dynamic, and skilled forward that will bring a new element to the Shamrocks roster this season. Ruest spent four seasons with the Colorado Mammoth NLL squad where he was a fan favourite, recording 73 goals, and 115 assists before being traded to Albany for the 2022 season.

This past season Ruest totalled 37 points in his 18 games with the FireWolves. His career out west may just be starting, but Ruest will have an immediate impact on this Shamrocks offense.

“I’m ecstatic to be suiting up for the Shamrocks this summer,” said Ruest. “It’s an honour and privilege to wear the Shamrock and represent Victoria both in the WLA and on the national stage. I’m looking forward to going to battle with my teammates this summer in pursuit of bringing the Mann Cup back to Victoria.”

Catch Ruest suit up for the first time in green at our home opener on Friday, May 27th as we take on the New Westminster Salmonbellies. Tickets are available on our website at https://www.victoriashamrocks.com/single-game-tickets or in store on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12-5pm.
