Shamrocks Etch Names Into WLA Record Books

Victoria, BC ~ A historic night at the Q Centre in Colwood, saw the Victoria Shamrocks set a Western Lacrosse Association record with their 17th straight win to improve to 17-0 on the season.
A relatively even first period saw the Shamrocks outshot 19-11 but come out tied at two after twenty minutes.

Langley got the scoring started with a marker just 1:43 into the game before Marshal King continued his hot play as of late, by tying the game at 6:28. Casey Wilson would put the Shamrocks up by one with 11:40 gone in the first before the Thunder tied things up going into the first intermission at 16:57.
The first period was low scoring, however the second was not. 13 goals between the two teams ensured none of the 2118 fans at the Q Centre were bored during the 20 to 40 minute mark.
The two teams exchanged markers within the first two minutes as it was Chris Wardle tickling the twine for the 'Rocks but Langley doubled the Shamrocks output to be up 4-3. Ronan Pusch and Jesse King would score at 2:03 and 4:26, respectively to give the Shamrocks the lead.

The lead changing ways would continue as the Thunder responded with two of their own at 5:43 and 6:36. However Victoria would rattle off four in a row between 7:39 and 13:51 to be up 9-6. Those scorers would be; Kyle Pepper, Casey Wilson, Marshal King (second) and Chris Wardle (second). The Thunder would cut the 'Rocks lead to 2 with a late powerplay tally heading to the second game break.
The third and final period saw both teams go scoreless until Langley pulled within one at 17:06 with a chance to tie late in the game. The Shamrocks however weathered the storm and Trent DiCicco put a cherry on top with an empty netter to seal the deal as just 2 seconds remained on the clock.

Both Marshal and Jesse King picked up five points as Marshal had two goals and three assists while Jesse logged a goal and four assists.
Cam Dunkerley got the start in goal and was splendid, making 38 saves on 46 shots

Victoria goes for an undefeated season on Thursday from Queen's Park Arena in New Westminster for their final match of the regular season
