Jesse King Returns to the Victoria Shamrocks
The Victoria Shamrocks are excited to announce that Jesse King is returning to the team for the 2018 Western Lacrosse Association season.
The 25-year old native of Victoria, is widely recognized as one of the best all-round players in lacrosse today. He was a key part of the Shamrocks 2015 Mann Cup championship. The 6’3” 200-pound lefthander racked up 224 points with 99 goals and 125 assists in 61 career games with the Shamrocks before suffering an injury during the 2016 playoffs that would cause him to miss the entire 2017 season.
King is excited to pick up where he left off. “I am beyond excited to once again be playing in Victoria this summer,” he said. “Having the ability to play in front of family and friends is something I cherish very much. Being injured last summer and not being able to be around my teammates was tough and I hope to bring whatever I can to the team again this summer.”
The feelings are mutual. “We’re so happy to welcome Jesse back into our lineup,” said Shamrocks General Manager Chris Welch. “We really missed him last year. He’s a phenomenal player who makes us better and much harder to play against.”
King is contributing in the community as well by participating in the Shamrocks 2018 Subway Commit to Fit program, giving presentations at schools regarding the importance of keeping fitness a regular part of daily activities.
