WLA suspends three players for tonight’s game

Game Two between the Shamrocks and Lakers is tonight in Burnaby at 7:45pm

Victoria– After a video review of the Victoria Shamrocks’ 9-6 win over the Burnaby Lakers on Tuesday night, Western Lacrosse Association commissioner Ernie Truant has assessed the following suspensions:

Victoria:

Corey Small – One game suspension

Jon Harnett – One game suspension

Burnaby:

Scott Rouse – One game suspension

 * All three suspensions were related to what were perceived as blows to the head

Shamrocks general manager Chris Welch commented on the loss of Small and Harnett for tonight’s game. “Winning on the road in the playoffs is challenging enough,” said Welch, “and it will be much more difficult without these two premier players in our lineup tonight. It is what it is, and we will have to battle through it to get to where we want to be.”

The Shamrocks are up 1-0 in the best-of-seven series, and will look to return home on Friday with a two game advantage.
