Victoria Shamrocks @ Burnaby Lakers Game 6 playoff preview

Friday, August 19th, 6pm @ Bill Copeland arena, Burnaby

Shamrocks lead best of 7 series, 3-2

By Janice Huckin

The Victoria Shamrocks will be looking to rebound and clinch their semi-final series against the Burnaby Lakers on the road Friday.  After taking a 3-0 series lead, the Lakers have fought back with 2 straight wins including one on Victoria’s home floor in game 5.

The good news for the Shamrocks is that Corey Small came up with a hat trick and the captain will hopefully continue to be one of the scoring leaders for the Rocks.  Look for more speed up the floor by the transition and defenders to provide scoring support for the likes of Duch, Small and others.  Marshal King and Braylon Lumb, Jr. ‘A’ call-ups, are contributing offensively and look to be thriving under the challenge.  Adam Shute has been solid all year and should rebound for a solid performance if the Shamrocks are to clinch.

For the Lakers, expect them to continue as they have been, playing a hard punishing style and getting balanced scoring.  They have a lot of talent up front and they are getting scoring assistance from the back end.  Zak Boychuk was the top goaltender all season and hopes to continue.

The game is available to watch at the Shamrocks Official “Post Game location”, Browns Socialhouse in Langford starting at 6 as well as Pay Per view under the FanZone tab from victoriashamrocks.com.
