Victoria drops Game 3 in New West & looks to rebound for Game 4 at home on Friday

Logan Schuss scored the game’s first goal just under eight minutes in, then scored two more in the next five minutes as the Salmonbellies opened up a 3-1 lead on Victoria in the first. The Shamrocks goal came from Casey Jackson, his fourteenth of the postseason. After a goal near the end of the first period, New Westminster led 4-1.
The Bellies equalled what Victoria did in game two, when the ‘Rocks scored eight straight goals on route to the win. New Westminster scored the only goals of the second period as Logan Schuss scored twice more, for five on the night. Victoria had a 45-34 shot advantage through forty minutes, but trailed 9-1 after 2.
New Westminster scored the first four in the third period, but Victoria found their offence late in the game, finding something to build on for game four. Down 13-1, Victoria scored three in two minutes to get back within single digits. Shamrocks goals came from Jackson with his second, Evan Messenger and Joe Resetarits. New Westminster won game three behind a nine point night from Logan Schuss and fifty-two saves from Bellies net minder Alexis Buque.
Game four shifts to Victoria on Friday, where Shamrocks Nation will be cheering loud and proud as their team looks to tie the series as they did with Game two’s 11-5 win at home.
The WLA released its All-Star teams ahead of Tuesdays game, with a pair of Shamrocks being named to the teams. Captain Corey Small was give first team honours, as he tallied a career high eighty-eight points, by far the most in the league. Defender Steve Priolo was named to the second team, as he logged a ton of minutes on the back end, while showing his offensive touch, with eleven points in eighteen games.
