Victoria comes out scoring fast and finishes the night strong in Maple Ridge to tie the WLA finals at two

The defending National Champion Victoria Shamrocks showed why they belong in the Western Lacrosse Association Finals and never trailed in the game as they held period leads of 4-3 and 9-7 on their way to an 11-8 victory in Maple Ridge on Tuesday to tie the WLA final series at two.Â
Adam Shute was back between the pipes for the Rocks, and it was Frankie Scigliano at the other end in a losing battle. The Shamrocks went up 3-0, as they got another quick start before the Burrards put one in just past the halfway point of the opening period. They managed to claw back to 3-2 before the teams traded goals to end the period as Cory Conway got a pair for the Shamrocks with Chris Wardle and Rhys Duch also scoring.
The second period saw a total of nine goals scored with Victoria again outscoring the home squad 5-4 and outshooting them 17-11. Small added two more goals; Duch, Wardle, and Jr. ‘A’ call-up Braylon Lumb each scored as well as.
In the third, Jeff Shattler scored early to put the Rocks up 10-7, but Riley Loewen got the home team back to within a pair before Greg Harnett scored an insurance goal into the empty net which was ensued by rough play ending the game. Final shots on goal were 36-29 for the Shamrocks.Â
