The Talent Continues to Trickle In: Shamrocks add Nishimura for 2022 season.
Victoria, BC– The Shamrocks are excited to welcome defender Jackson Nishimura to Victoria for the 2022 season.
Nishimura, a Toronto, ON native, will make his Shamrocks debut this Friday against the Burnaby Lakers. Growing up, Nishimura was heavily involved in the Toronto Beaches lacrosse association. He spent all five years of his Junior “A” career with the Beaches, before taking his game to the next level.
“We are thrilled to have Jackson join our squad,” General Manager Chirs Welch said. “He’s an incredible athlete that will bring more speed out of the back end and help our game tremendously.”
Nishimura was then drafted 26th overall in the NLL draft to the New England Blackwolves. He totalled 8 points and 97 loose balls in just 16 games. Nishimura continued with the franchise as they relocated to Albany where he had a standout season.
In the 2021-22 season, Nishumura totalled 11 points, 123 loose balls, and 8 caused turnovers. A quick, feisty, and talented defender, will help take this defensive unit to the next level.
“To me it’s a privilege to be out here and play for this team,” Nishimura said. “From the moment I got here it seems like everyone is really invested and cares about winning. Excited to see what we can accomplish as a group this summer.”
Catch Nishimura suit up for the first time in green at our game this Friday at 6:45pm as we take on the Burnaby Lakers. Tickets are available online or in store on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12-5pm.
