Shamrocks Stoked to Host Salmonbellies

Victoria, BC – Today is the day for the final regular season game for your Victoria Shamrocks. They have the pleasure of hosting the first place team in the WLA, the New Westminster Salmonbellies. This is each team’s final battle before the postseason. The Salmonbellies have first place locked up with the Shamrocks clinching 2nd regardless of what happens tonight.
The ‘Bellies are a machine when it comes to scoring goals. New West is the only team with 100 points on the season and their highest scorer is arguably the ‘Bellies most valuable player, Logan Schuss. Schuss has 103 points on the season and has put up at least 1 point in every game this season. New Westminster and Victoria are the only two teams in the league with 5 different players who have 40+ points to their name this season. With each team being number 1 and 2 in goals for this season fans should be treated to a game with some lethal shots and high powered offenses.
Special teams are where New Westminster is heads and shoulders above everyone else. Their power play is running at almost 48%, the highest figure in the league. While their penalty kill is only #2, it still operates at 65%. Those two numbers together are the best special teams stats in the league. If Victoria can do one thing right tonight it’s staying disciplined and staying out of the penalty box.
It’s the final game of the ultimate lacrosse weekend and you definitely won’t want to miss this. It all starts with the pregame tailgate beginning at 3:30pm before the doors open at 5:00pm and the game starts at 6:00pm.
