Shamrocks make trade with Nanaimo for gritty Brebber

Victoria, BC – With the first game of the season just under 80 days away, the defending Mann Cup Champion Victoria Shamrocks strengthened their lineup in a trade with the Nanaimo Timerbermen.

The Shamrocks traded for Paul Brebber in exchange for a 2nd round pick in the 2018 draft.  The 6 foot 1, 195lbs, offense transition player is entering his 4th season in the WLA.  In his first 3 seasons he played 49 games and accumulated 78 points including 43 goals along with 78 penalty minutes.  The 25-year-old right hander is from Nanaimo but lives and works in Victoria year round.  Paul was Nanaimo’s 1st pick in the 2013 junior draft after playing Junior lacrosse in Victoria in 2012.

Paul is excited about playing Lacrosse in Victoria, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to wear a Shamrocks jersey again.  I got to finish my junior career here and a chance to be part of this great organization.  I am excited to meet the guys on the team next month at training camp and start getting prepared to follow up a championship season.”

Shamrocks Head Coach Bob Heyes likes the physical play Brebber brings to the team, “first thing I like about the trade is the character of Paul, he is a hard worker with a scoring touch.  Secondly he offers good size and grit up front”.
