Shamrocks Make Huge Addition with Priolo
6’5â€, 235lb Defender Bolsters Shamrocks D-Core
Victoria, BC – The Victoria Shamrocks are very pleased to announce the addition of Steve Priolo to their roster for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Priolo, a 26 year-old towering defender from St. Catharines, Ontario, brings not just impressive size, but equally impressive credentials having recently earned a spot on Team Canada for the 2015 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, alongside Shamrock teammates Aaron Bold, Dan Dawson, and Ryan Dilks. In addition, he was recently named as one of three finalists for the National Lacrosse League’s ‘Defender of the Year’ honours.
“This addition changes our team’s complexion. Steve Priolo is a force out of the back end, who adds tremendous size, speed, and toughness to our lineup,†says Shamrocks general manager Chris Welch. “He’s an elite player who will make us much harder to play against.â€
There is an old adage in lacrosse that defense wins championships. With the additions of Priolo and Rory Smith to their 2015 Defense, the Shamrocks have addressed this key area in an effort to hang another national championship banner to the rafters of the Q-Centre Arena.
Priolo joins the Shamrocks squad via a transfer with the Brooklin Redmen, who agreed to a one-year release. Priolo will appear in the Shamrocks line up vs. Coquitlam on Friday Night.
