Shamrocks Look to Keep Momentum Rolling vs. Thunder
With just 4 points separating first place and 5th place, there are no longer nights off on the WLA schedule. The Victoria Shamrocks (8-4-0) winners of 7 straight, head to the Langley Events Centre to take on the Langley Thunder (3-10-0) tonight at 7:00 pm.
The two clubs have split the first two games of the season series, both at the Q Centre. Langley took the first matchup on May 26th by a 6-4 score, while the Shamrocks rebounded on June 28th with an 8-5 win.
In the latest matchup, the Shamrocks threw a balanced attack at the Thunder with Josh Fagan, Chris Boushy, and Cole Pickup each scoring a pair of goals in the victory. Boushy was all over the floor that night and led all attackers with a total of 11 shots. In fact, Boushy has been on a bit of a tear of late with 8 goals and 11 points in his past two outings.
The Shamrocks enter action tonight in 2nd spot, 2 points behind Maple Ridge. The Shamrocks do however hold 2 games in hand over the Burrards. The Shamrocks will visit Maple Ridge on Sunday in a crucial matchup. The task tonight for the Shamrocks players is to not look ahead to Sunday and forget that Langley has proven to be a worthy competitor for the Shamrocks despite their overall record.
After the two clubs pulled off a deadline day blockbuster, this will be the first game for Connor Robinson back a the L.E.C. while the Shamrocks will get their first look at Keegan Bell in the Thunder line up.
