Shamrocks Head To Maple Ridge Looking for Control

In a series many felt would be long, and potentially go the distance, the Victoria Shamrocks head to Maple Ridge with the opportunity seize control of the series. With a win, the Shamrocks would own a 3-1 series lead heading back to the Q Centre for Sunday. A loss, and we're down to a best of 5 series. Tonight’s  game is set for 6:30 pm at Cam Neely Arena.

To even be in this position is quite enviable for the Shamrocks.  Their electric 3rd period on Tuesday night provided them with a 2-1 series lead that seemed doubtful as the game wore on.  On four separate occasions (8-4, 10-6, 12-8, and 14-10) the Shamrocks found themselves trailing by 4 goals.  Down 14-10 mid-way through the 3rd, they began a 7 goal run that propelled them to victory, and quite nearly blew the roof on the Q Centre.

After the high of game 3, the Shamrocks will need to renew their focus in what surely will be  a different atmosphere tonight.

Jesse King and his 11 points was the offensive catalyst in the 17 goal attack, however King wasn't alone in his heroics. The Shamrocks will continue to lean on several sources for offence.

In goal, depite getting replaced by Cody Hagedorn in the 2nd period, Peter Dubenski showed his trade mark resiliency as he re-entered the game at the start of the 3rd.  When the Shamrocks needed him most, Dubenski rose to occasion stopping 22 of 24 shots to allow the comeback a chance to get started, and more importantly preserve the win.

Tickets are now on sale for Game 5 back at the Q Centre. The box office is open today until 5:00 pm, and then will re-open at noon on Sunday.  You can watch tonight's game on pay-per-view here: http://wlalacrosse.com/view/wla/wla-tv-1
