The WLA Finals series between the Victoria Shamrocks and Maple Ridge Burrards continues with game six in Maple Ridge Friday night. The Shamrocks will fight to continue the trend to win on the road into game six to force a game seven back in Victoria on Sunday.Â
Rhys Duch continues to lead all scorers in the playoffs with 63 points in 12 games, with Corey Small next at 52, Cory Conway with 46 and Jeff Shattler with 43.Â
Jr. ‘A’ call-ups have shown intensity and skill throughout the series, Braylon Lumb has 14 points in his 11 games while Cole Pickup and Marshal King have 5 points. Goaltenders Adam Shute and Cody Hagedorn have seen action while the defense continues to contribute to the scoring with some fast breaks down the floor.
By comparison, the top scorer for the Burrards has just over half the points of Duch, Dan Taylor leading the way with 39 points, followed by Ben McIntosh with 38 and Riley Loewen with 34. Frankie Scigliano has been between the pipes for all but 2 ½ minutes in the series and is expected to be between the pipes for Game Six.
Look for the Shamrocks to continue to find ways to challenge Scigliano and come back to the home rink for a second straight game seven.       Â
