Shamrocks Burry Burrards
The Victoria Shamrocks took down the Maple Ridge Burrards 14-9 on Alumni Night this Friday. With this win the Shamrocks improve their home record of 3-1 and their overall record on the season 5-2. The ‘Rocks are steadily moving up the ranks with only 2 points behind the New Westminster Salmonbellies for 1st in the WLA standings.
Our Alumni got to witness some impressive performances from Rhys Duch and Chris Wardle, who each put up 8 points. Wardle and King both had hat-tricks. Rocks goalie Adam Shute made 44 saves on 53 shots for his first career WLA win.
Flexing their offensive might, the Shamrocks continue to prove their ability to score as a team. 8 players finished with at least 1 goal and another 3 players adding at least 1 assist. Steve Priolo continues to heat it up scoring another goal for the Shamrocks, bring his season total to 4.
The Shamrocks play again on June 22 at the Bill Copeland Arena against the Burnaby Lakers. The next home game brought to you by the Royal Canadian legion is Friday, June 29 versus the Nanaimo Timbermen. That evening we ‘Salute to our Veterans and First Responders’ to honour the contribution they make to our community and our personal freedoms. It will be an exciting game as the Shamrocks are determined to settle the score. Game time is 7:30 pm and fans are reminded that doors to arrive early as the doors open at 6:30!
