Scene Shifts to Nanaimo for Game 2
The Victoria Shamrocks head to Frank Crane Arena tonight for Game 2 of the WLA Semi-Final Series presented by Telus Pure Fibre leading the TImbermen 1-0 in the best of seven series.
The Shamrocks took game 1 back on Tuesday night at the Q Centre by an 11-4 score.
The effort seemed almost clinical in game one for the Shamrocks who outscored the Timbermen each period by scores of 4-1, 4-2, and 3-1.
Peter Dubenski, who was acquired from Nanaimo early in the season was a key for the Shamrocks as he made several key saves throughout the night. Dubenski finished with 36 saves on the 40 shots he faced.
The 3rd-period fight between Nanaimo's Nate Wade and the Shamrocks Steve Priolo has cost Wade tonight's contest after the WLA league office ruled he came off the Nanaimo bench to engage Priolo in the tilt. Wade is eligible to return to the Timbermen line-up for game 3 on Saturday night at the Q Centre.
Offensively the Shamrocks were led by Chris Boushy and Jesse King who each found the back of the net 3 times in the win. Tyler Pace also chipped in with 4 assists.
The Shamrocks took both games in the regular season at the Frank Crane Arena, winning by scores of 12-9 and 10-5.
