Victoria, BC – This is a rare territory for the Shamrocks and not in a positive way. The Rocks enter tonight with an 0-3 record, something that the team hasn’t seen under owner Jim Hartshorne. However, there’s no time like the present, especially when it comes to getting your first win of the season. They’ll have a chance to do so as they battle their north island rivals, the Nanaimo Timbermen, tonight in the Harbour City.

The Shamrocks last game was a disappointing 8-5 loss to the Burnaby Lakers at The Q Centre on May 31st. The Lakers went on to outscore the Rocks 4-0 in the third period to put Victoria in this 0-3 hole. However, tonight will be the first time the Shamrocks hit the road, hoping the change of scenery brings a new spark to the team. Last season, the Shamrocks went 5-4 on the road, including an early season 12-9 loss to the Timbermen. If Victoria hopes to keep their Mann Cup dreams alive, they’ll need to get the job done tonight.

Chris Boushy and Casey Jackson lead the team in scoring as each of them have 7 points to their names and after getting 2 points in his first game last week, Jesse King will certainly be expected to get his name on the scoresheet. In net, Cody Hagedorn has a 5.85 GAA in two appearances this season and has been solid when called upon this season. The matchup between him and Timbermen netminder Charles Claxton will be a fascinating one as the evening progresses.
