Red Hot Rocks Host Thunder to Wrap Up Home stand

The Victoria Shamrocks will wrap up a 4 game homestand tonight as they host the Langley Thunder at 7:00 pm.

After tonight, the Shamrocks will hit the road for 5 consecutive games and won't be back at the Q Centre until July 19th.

The Shamrocks are feeling good after earning their 3rd straight win, and 4th in their last 5 games last Friday night against the Coquitlam Adanacs. After their slow start, the Shamrocks are back to .500 on the season and are back in the hunt in the WLA standings.

Larson Sundown, the Shamrocks 2nd round selection in this year's WLA draft has been sensational since making his season debut on June 6th against Nanaimo.  After an 8 point effort against Coquitlam on Friday, there appears to be no slowing him down either.  With 10 goals and 18 points in 5 games, it's easy to see why Sundown is quickly becoming a fan favourite at the Q Centre.

The Langley Thunder come into the game on the outside looking in on the WLA's playoff situation. After dropping an 11-10 OT decision to Nanaimo on Wednesday night, the Thunder find themselves at just 2-8-0 on the season.  One of those two wins, however, came at the expense of the Shamrocks back on May 26th.  In just the 2nd game of the season, the Thunder stormed into the Q Centre and came away with a 6-4 win.  Cody Hagedorn was sensational in that game.  After coming into the game late in the first period, Hagedorn stopped 33 of 35 Thunder shots to give the Shamrocks a fighting chance.

Tonight's game is the annual Wilson's Transportation Group "Family Night." There will be plenty of fun activities to engage in pre-game including giant Jenga, snakes and ladders, ring toss, sack races, and bocce ball!  Fans participating in these fun games can win Shamrocks tickets and some great swag from Wilson's!
