SHAMROCKS KICK OFF THE “SUMMER OF 69” WITH THE NAMING OF THEIR NEW OPERATIONS MANAGER
Westshore resident and former Regional Sales Manager and Community Builder, Linda Tesser to head Front Office
Victoria, BC – The Victoria Shamrocks Senior “A” Lacrosse Club would like to welcome Linda Tesser to the organization as Operations Manager.
Linda brings over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, most recently as the Regional Sales Manager with Visitor’s Choice and International Guide, as well as 15 years in event management, most notably with the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival and the Canadian Cancer Society. She has been instrumental in securing sponsorships, building new relationships, media relations as well as community relations and capacity building, all of which have resulted in increased attendance at events and additional revenue generation.
“I’m excited to see how Linda will build on the proud Shamrocks tradition our fans, volunteers and sponsors have become accustomed to as we head into our 69th season” Shamrocks President Jim Hartshorne.
Commenting on her appointment to the position, Linda said, “I feel privileged to join a team with such a loyal fan and sponsorship base like the Shamrocks has. The Shamrocks epitomizes strong community development. I know that I have big shoes to fill in replacing Jason Sperling, continuing the success and professionalism of the club. Mr. Hartshorne has taken this team to new heights over the past 10 seasons and I am excited to be part of this continued success for many more seasons to come.”
Linda moved to Victoria in 2010 and contributes to the community, being a past volunteer with The Mighty Hughes Foundation, Sanctuary Youth Centre, the West Coast Reach Association and a past Board member of the Victoria Blues Society. Linda enjoys hiking, kayaking and is a singer and guitar player.
The Victoria Shamrocks’ 69th season begins at home on Friday May 25th vs. the Burnaby Lakers. Shamrocks season tickets start at just $49 for kids and can be bundled with an adult for only $155. Tickets can be purchased at victoriashamrocks.com, phoning 250-478-ROCK (7625) or at the team store at 967 Langford Parkway.
