Game Day Preview: Surging Shamrocks Host Coquitlam
The Victoria Shamrocks (3-4) host the Coquitlam Adanacs (2-6) at the Q Centre tonight at 7:00 pm in the annual Fill the Cupboard Night presented by Island Savings. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item in support of the Goldstream Foodbank.
The Shamrocks come into the game on a high after taking a pair of games last weekend from New Westminster and Maple Ridge and have now won three of their last four games. Earlier this week Cody Hagedorn and Jesse King were rewarded for their efforts and were named WLA players of the week. With a win tonight the Shamrocks could climb back to .500 and out of the early hole they dug for themselves. This contest marks the 3rd game of a 4 game homestand that concludes next Friday against the Thunder.
The Adanacs meanwhile made waves earlier this week after completing a blockbuster trade with Maple Ridge. The Adanacs have won two of their last three games including a 10-7 win over Langley on Wednesday night. Matt Symes had 2 goals and 3 assists in the first-star effort during the win. The Adanacs are lead up front by Matt Delmonico who currently leads the WLA in assists with 19 and sits 5th overall in league scoring with 29 points on the campaign. While the Adanacs are winless at home, they've managed a 2-2 record away from the Poirier Leisure Centre.
