Burnaby Plays Full Force
Casey Jackson continues to send rocks flying into opposing nets as he scored 4 goals for the Shamrocks this Friday. Unfortunately, the Burnaby Lakers managed to defeat the Shamrocks in a close game at 13-10. Chris Wardle earned another hat-trick for the Shamrocks as well. While both Jackson and Wardle performed well, the Shamrocks have been at their best when their attack is in full force spread among their team. Without this depth it wasn’t quite enough for the Shamrocks playing against a team who had everything to prove after a tremendous 18-2 loss the prior week.
The Shamrocks eagerly await the return of Ryan Fournier, a critical piece for the shamrocks and known for his tenacious ability to win faceoffs, who is sitting due to an injury he picked up against New Westminster. Dallas Wade also sits has with a minor injury. While it is no excuse, these two players bring a lot of value to the table.
The Shamrocks are now 1-1 against the Lakers this season. The two teams will meet once more in the regular season on July 13th in Burnaby - it is certainly a game to anticipate as both teams will have a fire in their belly. The ‘Rocks have several days off to rest before they play again. The next game will be at The Q Centre on June 29th against the Nanaimo Timbermen. Revenge will be on the mind of the Timbermen as they were defeated 13-5 the last time they played Victoria. This is the game to settle the score and the island rivalry. Game time is 7:30 pm and doors open at 6:30!
